This project to extend a villa dating from the early 20th century was carried out by architect Tomoya Yoshikawa. The Mo family, wishing to leave their house to their children, decided to enlarge it and subdivide it by creating one apartment per floor. Tomoya Yoshikawa added a similar volume in line with the existing structure, at an angle to it. This theme of bias was central to the design. It can be seen spatially, in the typological organization, and above all in the bias given to the purlins, which raise the roof until it is almost flat at its end. This made it possible to access the apartments via an external staircase. The volume is designed in prefabricated straw, with a wooden slab and earth screed, and will be placed on a concrete base, with the aim of detaching the artifact from the ground and emphasizing it.
